The class of 1898 and class of 1882 monuments announce an upcoming Oberlin College Cross Country meet. Photos taken on October 17, 2008.

The Shipherd/Stewart memorial is painted for a tennis camp which holds some sessions on the Oberlin College campus. Photo taken June 25, 2008. The long white rectangle at the bottom of the rock is paint -40 years of paint accumulation!- which had dislodged from the base. It was about two inches thick, thirty-five inches long, and weighed about fifteen pounds.

Boyd Jones OC ’91 writes:

“When arriving to Oberlin for my first year, my Mom, Dad and I marveled at the painted rocks! This one was poignant in the Regan 80s “We are Not Wimps!” I am on the left — Boyd Jones OC ’91. That is my Dad, Jim Jones, on the right!”
