I painted the rock on May 13 in honor of my husband Steve’s 32nd birthday. We surprised him by having my daughter point it out later in the day when we drove by Tappan Square on our way to his birthday dinner. He thought that it was very sweet, but I think he was a little embarrassed and glad that I didn’t put his last name. I was so excited to see a picture of it on Oberlinrocks.com. I had forgotten the camera and by the time we came back into Oberlin to take a picture, it was painted over. Thank you!!! I love that someone is documenting this unique tradition.
